About Nerd Motors

Most vehicle classifieds earn their money twice: once from the dealership that supplies the inventory, and again from advertising sold against that inventory to the dealership down the road. The store pays to be listed and then pays again to stay visible on its own listings.

Nerd Motors does not do that. A dealership’s listing pages carry no competing dealership’s advertising, and shoppers on those pages are not routed to another store. That is the whole idea, and it is written into the agreement every dealer signs rather than left as a promise on a marketing page.

Inventory comes from each dealership’s own public listings or from an inventory feed the dealership provides, and it is refreshed on a daily schedule. We display what we receive. We do not set prices, inspect vehicles or verify title status — the dealership is responsible for the accuracy of its own listings, and the store page is the place to ask about a specific car.

A dealership appears here only after it has signed an authorization to be listed. Stores that have not signed one are not published.

It goes to the dealership that has the vehicle. The lead is that dealership’s property, it is not sold to any other store, and it is not used to build a profile for anyone else.

There are no third-party analytics and no advertising or social pixels on these pages, and no cookies that follow a shopper to other websites. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

Nerd Motors is a brand of Nerd Motive, Inc. d/b/a Nerd Motors, which builds inventory and advertising technology for franchise and independent dealerships. The company operates the crawlers and the data pipeline behind this site, and the same pipeline syndicates dealer inventory to advertising platforms in the dealership’s own name.

The site is new, and the dealerships listed on it now are its founding ones. We would rather say that plainly than imply a scale we have not reached.

Listing is a flat monthly fee with no committed term — a store can leave on thirty days’ notice. The terms are published in full at Platform Terms, and the authorization a dealer signs is a single page.
